Smart phones, sensors, wearable devices, smart home products and connected devices have become a part of our daily lives. Mobile and pervasive computing and are essential to deal with the rapid increase in the usage of embedded devices and internet of things. 5G mobile networks are expected to revolutionize the entire world in near future and there are lot of challenges and opportunities in 5G implementation. 5G mobile communication is fast and energy efficient which aims to support the billions of connected devices. Edge devices provide a lot of new opportunities in pervasive mobile computing applications. Intelligent edge computing has become popular in recent years due to increased bandwidth, low latency and smart decision making capability. Integration of edge analytics and 5G mobile networks is highly required for achieving reliability and speed.  The special issue focuses on applying intelligent edge analytics and 5G technologies in pervasive computing and communication systems. Proposed submissions should be original, unpublished, and present novel in-depth fundamental research contributions either from a methodological perspective or from an application point of view.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: Security and privacy for pervasive computing; Mobility management in pervasive communications; Energy efficient data sensing in pervasive computing; High performance communication for pervasive systems; Edge computing for cyber-physical pervasive systems; Edge analytics for smart communication; Edge computing for IoT; Edge of things for smart city; Edge analytics and 5G for healthcare; Intelligent edge analytics for autonomous systems; 5G mobile networks for IoT; Spectrum sharing and cognitive radio networks; Network security for 5G communication systems; Intelligence in capsule networks; Real time processing at the edge; Data storage, distribution, and management in edge systems; Distributed Artificial Intelligence solutions for edge; Security, privacy in intelligent edge analytics.
