The concept of sustainability is not a new idea. In the current situation all the global issues related to either environment or energy sector have forced to rethink in a different way for an economical and eco-friendly sustainable solution. A large number of physical and biological routes including adsorption, advanced oxidation process, photocatalysis, electrochemical, algae or microorganism based processes have been proposed for recycling wastewater as sustainable solution. Similarly in the energy sector to overcome the crisis of the regular conventional fuel and global warming issues, a large number of technologies are implemented using different abundant renewable energy sources like wind, geothermal, solar, hydropower and ocean energy that meet today’s demand of energy without creating any global warming issues. So considering the importance sustainability, the aim of the special issue is to present research articles on all kinds of smart sustainable technologies to overcome the all critical crisis related to the environmental and energy issues.
